Just over six months ago, we said goodbye to my father due to a rare illness. And just yesterday, almost in the blink of an eye, we also lost my mother-in-law, once again to illness.
She possessed one of the most radiant smiles I’ve ever known.
The formalities of Japanese funerals are often overwhelming so I make no apologies for hiding behind the camera. Over the last 24-hours I’ve taken some of the most meaningful photos I think I will ever take. Most of them, of course, are suitable for sharing on social media.
Life goes on, smiles will never be forgotten. Especially when there’s a camera around.
