Walking Nagoya 10 – Sakae and Yabacho

A rather uneventful excursion this one, hardly qualifying as a leisurely walk. My plan was to visit Koujitsusanso to pick up hiking supplies for the upcoming weekend hike (Kisomaedake here I come), and then make a return to Chikusa via Yabacho.

Expectations of having ample time were shattered though when I discovered that the hiking shop didn’t open until 11:00. Not a concern if I was using the subway, but I was walking.

Consequently, I found myself killing time in Sakae again, a district I’ve never held much enthusiasm for. While waiting for the shop to unlock its doors, I loitered in nearby Yaba Park, where a television crew (or perhaps a group of students) was capturing footage for something or other.
