Photography & Cycling: Jokoji Temple・定光寺

Jokoji Temple (定光寺) in Seto (瀬戸市), just to the east of Nagoya – but closer to Kasugai in reality – is a wonderful place to ride to at this time of year. I ride there a few times a week and usually have the place to myself but not for the next week or so when the autumn colours are on full display. There’s a brutal climb from Joukouji Station if you are on a bicycle but it’s worth it as there are also plenty of hiking trails just above the lake, including the Tokai Shizenhodo/Tokai Nature Trail (東海自然歩道), a nice park, and some beautiful hidden spots tucked away deep in the hills and forests if you know where to look.

This last image was taken along the Shonai/Toki River between Joukouji and Kozoji Stations.
