Mt. Ibuki, Shiga prefecture.

I recently stopped on my way to Osaka to photograph a small village on the Nakasendo. These were taken from the local train and station.

I once had a cycle race to the top of the mountain and if my memory serves me well finished 22nd out of 130 or so. Held in April, there was still snow at the top so the organisers had to shorten the course. I’d like to cycle up there again someday but unfortunately it’s a private road so the only way you can cycle up is to take part in the race, something that I have no desire to do again.
