Cycling & Photography: iPhone

It’s always been difficult to combine cycling and photography, my two favorite hobbies. Mainly because I hated carrying a camera with me but also because if I DID take one with me the urge to keep cycling overrode any desire to capture a certain scene. But that’s all changed now that I can easily fit my iPhone in my jersey pocket.

Cycling is the Japanese countryside is hard to beat.

  1. Lovely images Sean. And I envy the gorgeous route you cycle on – so much better than the quintessential urban jungle.

    1. The Urban Jungle has its benefits sometimes. Especially if you are on a death wish 🙂

I’d love to go cycling in south India, around Kerala and Munnar in particular, but those truck drivers always scare the hell out of me.

  2. BMC! Nice. These are iphone photos? Damn. I’m carrying my Rangefinder and the Hasselblad!
These shots are great. Something I’d like to do more of. Sometimes though it’s about how early you can get up and if you are doing the ride at speed or not 🙂

    1. Yup. BMC.

I think I mentioned last year in Tokyo but I could never cycle and do photography at the same time. But then I realised I have the iPhone with me and it all changed.

Nowadays whenever I contemplate going in to Nagoya for some ‘street photography’ I inevitably jump on my bike and head off in the opposite direction into the hills instead. It feels far more rewarding, not to mention healthier.
